@MrBrownstone: it seems to make a difference up here where it gets so dark so early

I always find a tiny bit depressing when it gets dark so early.

@NigelDoes: Nigel, me too except when I get more light throughout the day. It didn't happen when I was working at Walmart because of the skylights and natural light coming through into the store, and it didnt' happen at the car lot because there are skylights in the shop area. I have a blue light box I use sometimes in the winter...it also makes the birds more active in the winter if I sit it by their cage and turn it on for about a half-hour.
