@energie Oh, I suffer from depression and have done since my early teens, so I am certainly no stranger to it.
Shitty, horrible things happen in life, and you either choose to overcome them, or you don't.
You can't blame the universe and just give up and crawl into a bottle or a syringe and then expect the world to owe you compassion.
You have to work through it, and the strength for that can only come from within.

@Quizzical Depression affects different people in different ways. Im sorry for what you've gone through but you cant make comparisons like that. If you knew you could take drugs to get temporary relief from your suffering then I am not so sure you would turn them down. Plus some people are genetically predisposed to addiction. You may just be lucky enough to not be one of them
