I have an older relative who can certainly do this for herself and more but insists on refusing medical treatment in order to have immediate family drop everything to attend to her every need.@Mrsbetweenfatandfit

@AnonymouslyYours why does anyone still help? If she’s of sound mind & refuses to treat herself but expects other to care for her anyways that’s definitely unacceptable behavior that shouldn’t be enabled.
She's passing in a matter of weeks if not days according to physicians, so that will be the conclusion to this lifelong antic.@Mrsbetweenfatandfit

Yeah...I don't know what would make someone behave this way...I've long suspected it stems from unresolved childhood trauma and an unwillingness to change in adulthood.@Mrsbetweenfatandfit
