One thing I remember about station wagons, the point (to us kids) was to be able to ride in the cargo area, in back. My sibs and I would sit in back, playing cards.
@bijouxbroussard Yep, reminds me of my family's road trip when we relocated from Houston to Chicago in 1984. I was only 6 but I remember it fairly well.
