What do you do for a living, and how long have you been doing it?

I've been an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) since August 2008. I just recently had an interview for a Human Services professor at a community college and I'm hoping I get that job.

Have you enjoyed being a social worker? I’m thinking about career options after I graduate and that’s always been high on the list

@Effloresce I've thought about doing that as well
@Effloresce It can be tough job, let me tell you. I posted a story about it recently:

I admire those who can deal with that much emotional distress and trauma. I think that’s the main reason why I’m still debating it. I’ve always been very empathic which I use to help my friends and family, but I don’t think that would be a good thing with a career such as this one 🤔. Anyways, thanks for sharing part of your story:)@latinbutterfly
@Effloresce No problem, just being me 😊. I grew up in a Mexican neighborhood with gangs and poverty, and that made me decide to become a social worker to help those who are less fortunate and facing similar challenges that I faced.
