I’ve got a family member who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and even though he’s here with us, he’s really not sometimes. It’s sad to see that light slowly go out in someone like that.
@SW-User yeah. I had a friend who had brain cancer. towards the end, his answers would have been hilarious if they hadn't been heartbreaking.

My grandfather died from brain cancer. The only silver lining I could muster from that whole experience is that it was mercifully quick, and he didn’t suffer long. I know that’s how I’d prefer it if I had it. @stound
@SW-User yeah. it was weird for the guy I knew. I'd been trying to keep up with him, calling every week... was burning out, took a vacation.. missed for about 4 weeks and he went from 'ok, going in for another scan' to 'can't really communicate anymore' in that time frame and had tapped out in another 4 or so. pretty quick. we're dangling on tiny, frail threads in a room full of thrown knives.
