There might be some logic behind the seven year itch..

If it’s true that every seven years (or 10, depending on which story you hear) we become essentially new people, because in that time, every cell in your body has been replaced by a new cell, do you think it’s possible that this may cause people’s marriages to fall apart or become more challenging during this timeframe?

I don’t think it’s a physical thing particularly. People change and mature, sometimes not at the same rate; occasionally folks get bored. If they both want the marriage to work they have re-dedicate themselves to it. And the 7 years has always been an average, anyway. For some couples it’s earlier, others, much later. My uncle and aunt broke up after the last child left home and it was just them again. They’d been married for 40 years, since they were 18.
