People 30+, what's something that happened back your day?

I remember dial-up internet, where the phone and internet were on the same line, and if someone in your house wanted to use the phone you had to stop using the internet for a bit 😁.

Carburetors, where before you started the car you had to pump the gas a certain number of times to squirt fuel and let air in via the choke valve.

@latinbutterfly actually, choke does just the opposite (hence the name)

@latinbutterfly The air is always going in via the choke valve - but you close it when the engine is cold, to cut the amount of air getting into the engine, creating a richer mixture.
@wildbill83 You're right, it's been a long time lol.

@latinbutterfly It’s easy for me, I have a garage full of old motorcycles 😊
@QuixoticSoul We haven't had a carbureted vehicle in my family since 1989, so it's been forever 😁.

@latinbutterfly Motorcycles embraced the transition later, but I do have a fuel injected ‘96 - definitely removes a huge source of hassles and fiddling.

@latinbutterfly those were the days just about anyone could give themselves an oil change or tuneup
@Fernie Right? Cars and their engines were so much more simple at one time. Even my first car, a 1991 Ford Escort, was much easier to service compared my current which is a 2013 Chevy Malibu.

@latinbutterfly If I had a new car I would not even bother looking under the hood
@Fernie Hahahaha 😆😂
