Do you think the following quote is a good reason to allow freedom of speech...?

I don't interpret the quote with having anything to do with freedom of speech. In layman's terms, the quote means that the ability to analyze before accepting anything as concrete fact is a quality among the educated. When this was written, not everyone had the opportunity to be educated.
