Online especially - even if you precede and follow a joke with **jk** and a wink emoji, nobody will notice it, will think you are serious, and lock you in the stocks while they throw rotten stuff at you.

@Mamapolo2016 Yeah, online is a whole different story. Much more difficult to tell if someone is being sincere online.
It also depends whom I'm around. Close friends know when I'm joking, but others who don't know me as well might have trouble telling.
