Yep.
Your 'worth' determined by a bunch of 1's and 0's and whatever passes for a 'Risk algorithm'.
Every purchase logged and recorded In 'Big Brothers' database and your Life insurance premiums determined by what's regularly in your shopping cart.

@Picklebobble2 If that happens then collecting gold and silver will suddenly become very popular.

@whowasthatmaskedman
Like 'Clubcard' Loyalty points ?
Can't believe the number of folk who do all that believing it's worth it and NEVER questioning quite WHY any company would 'give away' such 'bargains'.

@whowasthatmaskedman not to me. I'm broke, so is ........
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Platoscave Starts off creepy, but when you think they want all purchases done via a traceable card; your ISP address; your e:mail; your mobile #..... And the dumb thing is, if you're gonna gather so much personal info, you could 'tailor' really good solutions to folks life problems.....if you didnt see EVERY consumer as some sort of THREAT !
Platoscave · F
@Picklebobble2 you REALLY think the corporatocracy wants to give us solutions for life's problems?
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Platoscave Many corporations and banks ended up on 'Life support' after the banking crash of '08.
Remember all that ?
Worthless mortgages being sold to those almost in poverty ?
Idiot bankers trying to sell bundles of the things to each other ?
And as the money supply dried up folk lost their homes; company share prices collapsed; pension funds became worthless and an ENTIRE generation - The Baby boomers, facing retirement on means tested benefits !!!
Fast forward ten years.
A lot of the big companies of that time are now dust !
The EU keeps saying it wants 'closer financial integration' despite common knowledge that Italy is broke ! Ireland is broke ! And many other nations 'wealth' suspected as being "not as healthy as they say it is".

If you thought '08 was 'bad' the end of THIS economic period has the potential to be far FAR worse !

@Picklebobble2 I told an Irish friend that Ireland was broke and he told me why I was wrong. But Greece is sure still hurting...
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Platoscave And the Americans overseas debt is way more than the Greek one, on a per capita basis. The incompetent economic management of EU member nations is the reason I feel Britain would be better off out of the EU.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Platoscave Ireland is still in economic trouble. they were bailed out by the European bank in '08 and have since paid their debt back to the EU.
But the economy is still under scrutiny as it seems all Irish governments since '08 have LIED about their economic state.
This article explains it well.

@silmarilion456 And you completely missed the point of the question. Monopoly money has numbers on it. That doesnt mean its worth anything.
