How has Anxiety and Depression affected your life?

I am currently 29 years old, will turn 30 this year. Been dealing with Anxiety and Depression for about 8yrs. To be honest, it has ruined my life. I missed out on so many things that most people do in their 20's. Like going out on dates, going to clubs, parties, Friday night out etc... All I really do is stay home, go to work, Play Football (soccer) with friends. Both friendly and competitive.

I was full of potential when I was young both when it came to academics and Football (soccer) the majority of people I ever play with tell me I could of gone pro. Never followed that dream due to personal problems. Something I regret to this day. Stayed in NYC for college, I should of went out of state and had the real college experience. But decided to stay in NYC. Something I also regret to this day.

Right now I work as a Graphic designer for a small company making decent money. I still live with my parents, helping them with bills and things around the house. Plan to move out soon. Hopefully out of NYC, I have love for NYC but it's not like it use to be. Too many high rises going up and more and more people moving in.

My love life is non-existent. Mainly because everyone thinks I'm in high school. I mostly get hit on by high school girls which is awkward. Not really use to dating since I was never attractive to girls when I was in school. I get more attention now, people tell me I glo'd up late.

For the future, I really want to travel and backpack a few countries. Seeing new things, meeting new people (especially women) and to just really experience life. I know I lost out on a lot things and opportunities. However I still feel I have a lot to offer.

One movie, or movie character they perfectly describes me and my life Is "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty"

Anxiety is the most awful thing anyone can go through.. it can take over your life..if you want to try new things just go for it!!! Only one thing worse than anxiety and that's regret ...find your strength and go be the person you want to be and experience all the beautiful things in life you owe yourself that
