Are intelligence and knowledge different things?

One being inherent and another being learned? Being raised with rubbish education, you may be highly intelligent but very un-knowledgable. Similarly, you could be very knowledgable, but, at the same time lack the intelligence to interpret any of the things you've learned or discover anything new.
