Why do we want to rescue others but never ourselves?

It's easier to rescue others because we see them more clearly than we see ourselves sometimes. Also, we may feel like they deserve to be rescued where we don't necessarily feel the same way about ourselves.

Totally agree. That sums it up perfectly IMO. Its the deserving to be rescued part that is troubling. Need to work on this...

It has to do with harnessing anger for our own good. Complicated but that's what my therapist says
