What makes Europeans think they are any less brainwashed by their own media corporations?

after all, if you were would you really know?

I can't remember how I came across it, but I stumbled on the World Press Freedom Index for 2018. It does seem to corroborate what I was saying about US and UK news being similar (UK was 40th in the list, US was 45th). But it does show a lot of Northern Europe (exluding the UK) has most freedom in the press.

No idea how the figures are compiled are what conclusions can be drawn.

@GlassDog The interesting thing is the example of the person I had in my mind when I wrote this was someone from the UK. There were others but it seems for that one it isn't all that different yet they boasted.

@Jackaloftheazuresand Yeah, it's easy for us to think our media is unbiased (and it's always easy to fingerpoint at America) but when you actually consume both nations' media daily, we're pretty much getting the same news in the same way. One difference is that we get a lot more international news, but that's of little relevance when talking about bias.
