Not understanding why I feel like this, nor particularly want to either. Lash out in an inappropriate manner. Where is that peace, gentleness, and self control?

Yes. Repressed rage in my case. Step too close to a badly wounded pitbull used for bait and it’ll use its last to rip you to shreds.
