Why is late afternoon on Sunday so bleak and sad?

There's something about it isn't there.. Douglas Adams, (Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy) wrote a book called, 'The Long dark Tea-time of the Soul' and it mentions this time on a Sunday afternoon that seems to go on forever, pointless, nothing happens.. So it's a well known thing..
