is it just me or is this rude?

When my friend comes over to hang out her mom will call her like 2 or 3 times just to talk for about 30 to 40 minutes. I completely understand when you need to talk to family or you miss them .But she lives with her and she will call her on the way to my house and talk to her a few times we she is hanging out with me and then call her while driving home. Should I tell her is bothers me ? Like can she keep the phone calls under ten minutes ? Is that fair to ask?
