Yes.
Abortion should be legislated not "allowed" by court. Especially, if abortion clinics are to get federal funding.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@ZeroFox You believe abortion shouldn’t be an option? That it should be illegal in most cases.
ZeroFox · 36-40, M
@SimplyTracie I think it should be legal but should not be state funded.
ZeroFox · 36-40, M
@SimplyTracie But if it is to be state funded, we need legislation to direct and regulate.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@ZeroFox Fair enough.
TheProphet · M
@SimplyTracie It should always be illegal and prosecuted with prison time.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@TheProphet No leniency for special circumstances?
TheProphet · M
@SimplyTracie No. Killing babies is murder.
TheProphet · M
@SimplyTracie Only if the special circumstance is impregnation by an other worldy alien or Satan.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@TheProphet I agree but I have read about trauma causing the mothers life to be in jeopardy if the pregnancy wasn’t terminated.
TheProphet · M
@SimplyTracie I have too. Would you give up your life to save your baby? I'm betting you would in a minute.
ZeroFox · 36-40, M
@SimplyTracie The problem with that argument is that it is never used to compromise. For example, you never hear someone say 'legal in certain circumstances, but illegal in all others. It is only ever is as a tactic to force the pro lifer to weaken his position.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@TheProphet Its hard to weigh at this time. I mean if the pregnancy is in the first two trimesters than I would terminate the pregnancy.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@ZeroFox But isn’t there circumstances that warrant making choices that you wouldn’t otherwise make?
ZeroFox · 36-40, M
@SimplyTracie I agree. I just wanted to let you know that you are using a weak argument, for future reference.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@ZeroFox Weak or not, it’s real.
TheProphet · M
@SimplyTracie I'm very surprised to hear you say that hon.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@TheProphet It’s how I feel. A fetus born five or even four months premature will not likely survive. It will probably be the decision I would make.
TheProphet · M
@SimplyTracie I understand. My wife was born 4 months early. Babies do live even younger. They are still human babies from conception.
Antoniuspoe · 51-55, M
@TheProphet Out of genuine curiosity, do you believe in the death penalty? For example, if on the jury of the man that shot up the nightclub in Florida, would you vote for the death penalty?
TheProphet · M
@Antoniuspoe Yes I'm a Death Penalty proponent. Some people give up their right to live.
Antoniuspoe · 51-55, M
So it's ok to kill as long as they are old enough? Wouldn't you deciding if someone should die be the same as the guy who pulled the trigger? I know I sound like an ass, I apologize. However, it does sound hypocritical. You can choose who lives and dies, but a woman who is raped by a relative should be forced to carry that child to term?
TheProphet · M
@Antoniuspoe The difference is that criminals choose their lives and deaths, babies don't.
Antoniuspoe · 51-55, M
Actually, technically, taking a life is taking a life. If your argument is either biblical or moral, killing is killing. "All life is sacred" and all that.
TheProphet · M
@Antoniuspoe No I disagree. I'm not religous. Criminals forfeit their right to live when they kill others.
