It has to be tough being American:

To be in a country that has everything going for it. A country that has the power to be a world leader. That has a strong and proud history of defending democracy and advancement and see it all hijacked by the right wingers in the name of "Freedom" and "Liberty" while those very things are sold out for political gain and Responsibility and Respect are thrown away.
Thieves on Capitol Hill. Dodgy Used Car Salesmen in the White House. TV and Movies populated by Perverts, Predators and Bigots and a rabid gun toting, bible thumping, semi literate population who are pandered to by appeasers.
No Morals, no ethics and thank goodness, due to the gullibility of the masses and the greed of the few, not too much future.
Will the last intelligent American turn the lights off as he or she leaves and watch the place descend into the Wild West, until they run out of ammo?

In my own opinion , the "real" elections take place before the primaries, when big business and the special interest groups choose which candidates to fund, on both sides of the House. Obama kind of blindsided them with a different campaign model that Trump Hijacked using the bible belters instead of the African Americans. @basilfawlty89

Capitalism does work, as Adam Smith planned it. But once people get enough money to start pulling levers behind the scenes the system goes out of balance. If that was not happening there would be no such thing as a Lobbyist.@Deadcutie

On the contrary. Capitalism is a hierarchical structure that robs the agency of the worker. A paltry sum is paid as wage which is a meager percentage of the profit produced by the blood and sweat of the working classes.

Capitalism hasn't always existed, we are a social species.

Adam Smiths problem is that his view supposed a free market with equal access. This is not something that can happen with capitalism. Mutualism it can be done with.

See? There is the difference between theory, which is fine, and practice, which allows for human beings. Basil is of course correct about market access. But it does get a little more complicated. Lets just say that government needs to provide the balancing force to keep the playing field level.@basilfawlty89
