Is it possible to have a simple birthday?

Besides almost dying during my last birthday, what's the point of celebrating? I drove to my parents one year and paid for everyone to get get drunk. Next day I gave $50 to my dad for cigarettes when he went to work and I never saw the change.

I hated birthdays years ago and investing money into last year's near death experience has cemented more hate for celebrating it. Still people harass me about my birthday. Maybe if I hide under a rock they'll forget about me
