Society, The System, whatever you want to call it, suppresses your essential self starting in childhood, so you will be a good little citizen, and installs its own version. One of the goals of life, maybe THE goal of life is to put yourself back together again. This emptiness is an illusion. Everything you want, everything you need, is right there in you. You just have to find it, and you can.
