Why do people ask about marriage at job interviews? :/

It's certainly unprofessional.
There may be some link to the fact 'married' folk are less likely to call in sick or need extended periods away from work for personal reasons.
But it sure is an odd question.

@Picklebobble2 I agree. They want to discover if you home life might interfere with your work load.

@Carla1951 No it didn't I realised that he had lots of hot chicks in his company and wanted to check that I can be secure or not. I hate that thing. I am nice and I am tired of proving it and marriage thing is just not enough to judge a person. That question panicked me alot and I ended up being screwed at final round.

Honestly I am lost and getting panicked attacks at this age. I just don't know what to do with life :'(
