Do boys need

A male influence? Personally I've never really had one, just my mum, stepmother and sister in the house then the majority of my teachers have been women, and even some of my coaches have been women. I don't think it's ever negatively impacted me though, what are your thoughts?

I think it helps with regard to balance. Even when he's far from being an ideal father, boys tend to model themselves on what they feel to be good about him - sense of humour, whatever. As long as they can reject the other.
