If you lived forever would you bother getting out of bed?

Is death the only point to life?

I'll tell you a secret. The gods envy we mortals.

Thanks for BA!

You deserve it!

Occasionally... one does have to pee.

@nonsensiclesnail 😂 Yep, or get bed sores.
@frequentlyme Exactly!!.... and the novelty of it all might become a bit stale if you stayed in bed tooooo long. But then, everything else probably has too.

I don't know if death is the point, but I'd agree that mortality is the context in which most (if not all) of our decisions are made. I have things I wanna get done before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

Did you not know there is a real life after this human life?
Paddy888888 · 56-60, M
@freedom45 shhh....That's a secret!!
Death is not the point at all... the outcome of what you do between birth and death is the point...
Paddy888888 · 56-60, M
@Soossie but if you lived forever wouldn't you keep putting things off until tomorrow?
Maybe... maybe some, but not everything...

I never want to be immortal, anyway... life would suck and it would be like the story of Sisyphus...

The point of life is the journey, not the end.
Paddy888888 · 56-60, M
@frequentlyme but isn't the destination the point of all journeys?
frequentlyme · 70-79, M
@Paddy888888 No, not really, or not for me. First, I realized at an early age that I began to die when I was born, and for me, what matters is the journey in between. Life, it seems to me, doesn't need some so called point, it simply needs to be lived fully, whatever fully means to any particular person. Thinking that death is the point somehow, to me, limits life, or the living of it.

@Paddy888888 Too, I think, death does have a purpose. It encourages us to live. So, I do see immortality being something that could dampen one's zeal for life.

Yes. There are still other things I like to do (though sleeping is one of them).

Yes. I would. I'd get bored pretty quickly lying constantly on my back

Everyone deals with life's problems in their own way I suppose.
