Why is humanity so backwards?

People have more sympathy & compassion for a stray animal than a homeless person.

I'm currently not homeless, but I was. My own family have more love for animals than they care about me. It's painful. Hard to live with.

People act like the poor, needy & suffering deserve their hell on earth. Something bad happened to you? People say that you deserve it.

I ponder this currently. I'm looking into exactly why we haven't housed all of the homeless with all of the wealth the USA has. We're coming across some large sums of money soon & I'm hoping to give 100s to maybe 1000s of homes to the homeless. I just wanna make sure to minimize the obstacles in making it happen. PM if you'd like to help somehow, even online tips/knowledge.
