Being vegan doesn’t make you a good person.

@Blooo I have been vegetarian since 1970. Your words here are the exact words I have heard from meat eaters all these years. All a vegetarian has to say is "No thanks, I don't eat meat" and the wrath and accusations begin...usually with "don't shove it down my throat" and "you think you're so superior" etc. You are acting the same way right now. If you spent 4 minutes in a slaughterhouse watching what happens to these animals so you can have your burger or KFC... you probably would see things differently. Eat what you choose to eat but stop accusing non-meat eaters of being arrogant. We eat with a conscience...we see it all differently than you do. I DO wish more people knew what happens to these animals when they bite into a chicken leg. That does not make me arrogant...it makes me awake and aware

@Fernie I've seen animals being slaughtered in real life. My neighbour keeps chickens and having seen her catch one, hang it upside down and snap its neck doesn't make the cooked flesh taste any less delicious.

I grew up in a rural area and some of my family's friends were pig farmers or dairy farmers. I suspect much of the issue is that so many people grow up in towns and cities and are disconnected from the harshness and gore of raising animals for food so they find it shocking in a way that they most probably would not if they'd grown up with it.

If nobody in the world ate eggs or chicken meat, there would be 99% less chickens on the planet. Not that chickens would care either way. They barely have a brain.

@Fernie sorry I didn’t see your comment when you posted it first. First of all I have nothing against veganism. What bothers me is vegans being mean and judgemental to people but you can’t judge them because they are “perfect” and so kindhearted. Again, being concerned about animals conditions or your own health doesn’t necessarily make you a good person. You can still be an asshole and vegan at the same time. Again, I have nothing against vegans, I’m sure there are some that really are good persons for many other reasons than that. It’s just that there are a few that take their veganism as an excuse to be shitty to other people
