Exactly! I was so confused why there is photos of them all happy when they were supposedly held hostage
Milla · F
@Itsprincess maybe it was something like Stockholm syndrome?

@xxxxxx ya but that’s still a huge risk if they didn’t want to get caught. the kids out of innocence could have said something like “wow mom, thanks for these lovely clothes - we aren’t used to wearing any” or something — reports say they had no idea about real world life. but they sure knew how to hide an awful secret!

Like people in Cults the human mind is easy to brainwash into a prisoner. hell we only came down from the trees a few thousand years ago
The pics are fake to hide what they were doing. The arms on the kids look like bones. An escape had been planned for 2 years.
@jjoe01 I am heart sick for these kids and what they have been through.
@Mondayschild Exactly, just too cruel.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
@Mondayschild i gotta be honest - ive seen skinnier kids. they don’t look THAT bad in pics unless shit really went down since then: they do look young
Anopenheart · 51-55, M
They probably made them fearful of reprisals on the others if they left. The adult ones are the perplexing ones.
katielass · F
They were probably terrified to say anything.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
ya but then one jumps out the window?? cause that’s easier?? @katielass
katielass · F
I wouldn't question obvious hostages who were in fear for their lives about why didn't they do this or do that. Thank goodness the one girl worked up enough nerve to escape.
Milla · F
I saw that. They looked like happy kids, but then I found out some of them are almost 30 years old. They look very young.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
@Milla hm ya that’s a good point. whhhhhy did they wanna hold on to those kids so bad?? this is one whacked story
Milla · F
@NiftyWhite I agree. My youngest is in college and I can't wait to be empty nesters. I know, I know, I'm selfish.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
@Milla no ur pretty normal i think lol
lucetta12 · 36-40, F
Probably because they spent most of their life in that house been told what was right and what was wrong. They don’t know anything but what they have been told. They probably thought that was the way life was.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
@lucetta12 well one of them obv knew it wasn’t right
lucetta12 · 36-40, F
@NiftyWhite there is always a smart one who doesn’t take shit.

It is! How everyone they must have come in contact with, said nothing?

I guess they scared the hell out of the kids? I don't know but that's the only thing I can think of.
User41 · 36-40, M
I like that guys hair...

Looks like heman master of the universe
SandInMyShoes · 36-40, F
@User41 He looks like Theresa May, lol.
User41 · 36-40, M
😂
That entire situation is bizarre. But abused children often don’t leave. Abused adult spouses don’t leave. So other than the extent, that’s not so uncommon, unfortunately.
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 26-30, F
This reminds me of that cult ran by the lady she adopted tons of kids ran a community cut off from outside world. The kids were beaten and verbally abused denied healthy nutrition. But she cleaned them up and taught them that she kept them safe there she loved them the others would hurt them. Had a video made with them all happily smiling all the while hiding the abuse they were enduring there
Jibby · 56-60, C
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit you're absolutely right there girl. Even animals don't treat each other like that Sure they kill out of necessity and only out of necessity. Here's what really blows my mind where the first species that actually has a good portion of them that pray to a God ..you would think we'd be a bit more moral than wolves.. my take on it is if a priest can do something heinous then all bets are off on everything else
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 26-30, F
@Jibby except animals like cats and killer whales they play with their food. Still yes animals with ‘morals’ shouldn’t be doing that tho tbh the people that claim their only reason not to do horrible things is their belief in god scare the living daylights outta me. Not being evil because of fear of eternal punishment not because you truly feel it’s wrong yikes
Jibby · 56-60, C
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit religion is a byproduct of fear. I think trying to get to heaven is too much of a task for some people and they actually go out of their minds. Not saying everybody that does that to kids his religious or anything like that but I often wonder if it's carried over from childhood. And teaching children about a place like hell should be considered child abuse
BadShrimp · 41-45, M
Sounds like horse shit to me.
Jackintex · 56-60, M
Maybe due to fear???
