how can people not know theyre talking to a catfish kinda person if someone talks to you like ''hey honey how are you!'' theyre probably fucking with

I feel it’s fairly easy to tell a catfish I don’t understand how people fall for it either. Also if you’re planning on having some romantic relationship with someone online or a long lasting friendship the least you can do is go through the extremes of making sure the person is who they say they are. Maybe set up a video chat date or something ? And if they’re really flakey and weird about it they’re more than likely not who they say they are.
