I think the older you get the more folk who knew and LIKED you when you were YOU, disappear from your life.

Not through anything you or they did or said necessarily. But jobs take you away from home. Life becomes about needing to satisfy people you don't particularly LIKE very much !
Bank manager; employer; Ex/Current partner and all their headf*ck stuff !

You begin to realize that your life isn't really YOURS !
Certainly not the one you'd CHOOSE anyway.

and this time of year is the [i]worst[/i] because it just reminds you of it with no escape !

@Picklebobble2 I retired early for those reasons...a lifetime of being shackled and working hard to generate money for others...I live now on very little money because I worked under the table for myself for many years but...I have never been freer...free of the shackles and never happier, my life and time belong to me only. Look forward to it
