For me, it was having to tell my mom that her cancer had spread too far to be helped.

@SW-User Thanks me too. It was 25 years ago, but I remember like it was yesterday.
She was the bravest, funniest lady I've ever known. She told me that there was a Christmas project she was working on for her two youngest grandkids and that she'd better get it finished before she was no longer able to do it.
It was treetop angels. As she was working on them she smiled and then she said, isn't this fun, I'm making angels, and pretty soon I'll be one.
