...forced an apology from or pressured the resignation of a Human Resources Director or Manager, that happens to be a white male who openly gave the opinion that a group of black woman can be diverse or bring diversity to the company?

I’m missing something here. What reason is the company giving for requesting an apology ? Under what circumstances did he feel that their race needed to be made an issue ? What type of business is it ?
The context is very important.
