How do you cheer up when you're upset?

There is nothing more sad than when your kid cries when talking to you on the phone.:(

I try to give my feelings healthy physical manifestations. Talk about them, express them in arts and make plans to change whatever is triggering them. And there are times I just let them pass through me.

It's not good for me to just distract myself.
