I use Month-Day-Year to write the date.

It IS a logical system, because it fits in with a lot of people's vocal pronunciation of the date. "August 24th, 2017" is the same as "8/24/17." "The 24th of August, 2017" is the same as "24/8/17." The former, in English, is faster to say. That's why I use it.

The logic to having the day first is it changes at a much greater speed than the month, same for month to year. That's how I see it anyway. I say the day first, usually, and when I write it out with words for the month and all. When I write it in short I do the former method because everyone here does (where I live). Also because it's what I'm used to.

Edit: Wait, no, I write it out and say it the same way as you do, most of the time. I often put an of instead of a comma between the day and year though. August 24th of 2017.

Also numerically it makes sense because there are more days than months and more years than days

I use Today, Yesterday and Tomorrow!

Also 3 weeks from Friday, except the Tuesday before then, not after.
