At what point do you just get rid of odd socks and break it to them that their mates are not coming back EVER ?

12 odd socks, where do they go ? It's a global problem I know, missing socks, but it's been 5 years now, they're not coming back are they ?

I only get rid of socks with holes in them or stains that won't come out. I wear mix match socks around the house all the time
