We live in world of minorities

Social media is the home of minorities. It's a place where a hundred fanatics can make their sometimes ridiculous opinions seem like it's the general consensus. A few hundred versus the billions of people who live on this wonderful planet we live on. We dare not disagree with them because we don't want the vile and derogatory replies that are sure to follow if we have a different opinion to theirs. In a democracy the majority rule but social media the minority rule. Discuss.

@missyann Anyone who believes that they are not getting what they think they deserve. Anyone with an axe to grind. Everyone seems to want to belong to a minority simply because it makes them look interesting and/or hip. We live in a (western) society where too many want to play the victim. Where too many people believe in ridiculous conspiracy theories without bothering to fully fact-check outside of their belief /support circle. It's a generalized statement, I know that many just want to get on with their lives without worrying about what the rest of the world is doing.
