Outsider Senate Candidate Graham Platner Claims the Democratic Party Threatened Him

I am a registered democrat.
I want to at least make the claim I'll prove later in the year that I'm voting straight ticket blue and always have that latter of that I can't prove but it's true.
I think it's gross what they said to him the insinuation essentially that he didn't wait his turn. the insinuation by leadership that essentially there's an order to these things and that there's a line and that he didn't "Wait his turn" to run is just... disgraceful.
look you assholes in party leadership work for us not the other way around you've forgotten who the real power is -the voters themselves.
You keep forgetting who it is you actually work for and then create these traditions where like there's a "turn" candidates are supposed to run in Fuck you. it's up to the voters. Not you in leadership, That's OUR right to decide and if we want to let him cut the line then we're entitled to that. you have NO right to assert there's an line and he was running outside his turn.
because that is not your decision to make or right to make it belongs to good voters of maine not YOU to decide WHICH "ORDER" the candidates get elected in.
I honestly hate our parties leaders the backroom dealing nature of a lot of this stuff that still goes on and this idea that somehow it's supposed to coronation that's done in the proper order.
Janet Millis lost by nearly 50 points like the Democratic Party of Maine has SPOKEN to those who said "SHE SUSPENDED HER CAMPAIGN" She suspended because she'd already lost. Planter outraised her massively the Donors flushed him campaign with over twice as much money as she ha and his campapign has far more volunteers to boot.
I'm an ardent feminist but I'm not big on identity politics. I'm very fixated on caring about the economy but in that I want more for women too.
the same asshole democratic voters though as 2016 are hitting him with oppo reseach calling him a nazi and so on and so forth. He's a flawed candidate I'll admit, not perfect but whemever is these days?
I don't actually believe he's a secret nazi he's spoken out against fascism for most of his life so it seems more likely to have been a pretty epic blunder and fuck up.
some bluesky nut screamed at me that Janet milis stopped even campaigning and I needed a "reality check" but again she lost the fucking money primary before the race even began.
she was going to run aground and out of it before long at all and she knew it and she made the wise choice t o suspend her campaign because the voters often remember you and then basically if your a loser candidate eventually you get tarred with losing and the stigma sticks and your Career's over basically once they see you as a loser.
But if she Suspended her Campaign at least she can say she basically wasn't even trying that way she can run for office somewhere else in Maine without being seen as a loser.
She badly got out raised she was running out of money not able to cut ads on TV as much although that way of campaigning is pretty broken and often fails voters are far more likely to show up with a personal phone call or if you show up and talk to them in person to tell them to get out to vote so Paid Canvases is a much better use of money. traditional campaigns spend way too much money on paid consultants that lose so god damn always Canvasing and phone banking doesn't make money for consultants but that mean most of the money gets wasted on TV ads that aren't terribly effective.
We've got a useless consultant class in the party that loses frequently and yet somehow always fails upward because they're never held to account by being fired for losing too many campaigns, it's a problem
