Does jail include detention or just conviction and incarceration?
@Gibbon I'd say there's a fair chance there won't be much of a record of that happening, as opposed to just handcuffing like Padilla, or maybe disappearing into camps, or falling out of windows.
Without throwing out all the lower court federal judges, feeding MAGA rage against US citizens probably isn't worth the bad press.
Retaliation against the press could change that, somewhat I guess, but the Gestapo/Gaspacho look doesn't play will with a lot of voters.
