Scientific American backs Biden in it's 1st presidential endorsement [I Am a Democrat]

Scientific American Magazine
September 15, 2020

Scientific American on Tuesday endorsed Joe Biden, the first presidential endorsement in the magazine's 175-year history.

It's editors said they felt "compelled'to do so because President Trump's well-documented rejection of science, from climate change to the coronavirus, has cost tens of thousands of American lives."

"The pandemic would strain any nation and system," the editors wrote,
"but Trump's rejection of evidence and public health measures have been catastrophic in the U.S.
He was warned many times in January and February about the onrushing disease, yet he did not develop a national strategy to provide protective equipment, coronavirus testing, or clear health guidelines.
Trump claimed, falsely, that 'anybody that wants a test can get a test,'" they continued.
"That was untrue in March and remained untrue through the summer.
Trump opposed $25 billion for increased testing and tracing that was in a pandemic relief bill as late as July.
These lapses accelerated the speed of disease through the country..."

That was my little sis that did that!

@Pfuzylogic for real?

@pentacorn
That is for very real.
The current editor in chief at Scientific American is my half sister and I couldn’t be more proud.

@Pfuzylogic that’s amazing! and you should be very proud, indeed 😊

@pentacorn
She was the one with the statement and I was there when she was born in 1969!
pentacorn · F
@Pfuzylogic the statement was very bold! she’s one of my heroes now 😁
Pfuzylogic · M
@pentacorn
I know!
I loved the statement.
It needed to be said from someone in her position!
pentacorn · F
@Pfuzylogic i agree. the fact that the publication came out for the first time in support of a candidate, a candidate who chose science over bullshit propaganda, was extremely refreshing and very reassuring.

@pentacorn
I like her approach on what the periodical covers. It has broadened into the social sciences and even politics and on LinkedIn she advertised for a position and she emphasized that a “kind” person was needed. I was like “Yes!” Just like when she distinguished the Presidential candidates.

@Pfuzylogic you’ve got an amazing sister, no doubt about it. she’s actually doing great stuff for humanity. what a wonderful and brave woman, leading the world of science into a new age. it’s all connected, and she sees that!

@pentacorn
She impresses me.
She wrote me when I was deployed at Diego Garcia when she was 10 and I shared a lot of the activities at the island. Her mom told me she really enjoyed that when I got back. She later went to Germany as an exchange student in high school.

Here until you acknowledge seeing it.

@Pfuzylogic
There are quite a few now on YouTube if you look her up.

@Pfuzylogic very well-spoken and sharp as a tack. you're whole family must be very proud. heck, i'm proud! ☺️ and she's beautiful... just glowing!
Pfuzylogic · M
@pentacorn
She is a confident straight shooter with an ego that is in check, in other words VERY lovable !
Pfuzylogic · M
@pentacorn
She is at it again and with Science magazine both made huge editorial articles against the mass shootings!
pentacorn · F
@Pfuzylogic oh, my gosh... wish i could hug her for that! we need science intervening in politics now. we literally need it! who ever thought we'd be living in such tumultuous times with all our modern tech? please tell her that she's my hero. 🤗
Pfuzylogic · M
@pentacorn
Her first job was at “Science” so I am certain they did this knowing each other was doing it, that is at least my best guess. The last time I saw her she was visiting in Indianapolis about 9 years ago. Physically she is small but she commands a huge presence!
pentacorn · F
@Pfuzylogic gathering and sharing data to prepare publication, i'm sure. :) man, she's smart to be in the position she's in, she has to be, i'm sure. fighting the good fight! and i'm tiny too, lol. big surprises come in small packages. i know it must be hard to go so long between visits. haven't seen my brother in about as long... i was super impressed with her CNN interview. she's so sure of herself, and she should be!

@pentacorn
My dad was fascinated by her when she came back from Germany. She had been there long enough that her thoughts were in German also.
pentacorn · F
@Pfuzylogic that's how you know you've really learned a language, when you can think in the language automatically.
