Honestly, it's sound cliche, but just follow your heart. All the rules and advise somebody could give you...nobody follows rules or advice, ppl do what feels right, if you're feeling something just say tell them. Life is short, and most love you'll have won't last, so enjoy the feelings when you have them. I'd say two weeks is fine, if you feel you should wait longer than do so. But it's a hard question because everybody is different and plays by their own rules.
