I think he's having a serious depression. You should try to convince him to go see a therapist together. I have depression and therapy didn't help cos I wasn't really cooperative. You can also take him out to places to see the beauty of nature, something green, it'll make him forget about the city life and the crowd. Tell him he can tell you anything on his mind and you're willing to be his listening ears. Make him feel loved and protected. It should help by time.

Good luck..

So I relate to this alot. As a child my father tried to kill me in my sleep. Please strongly suggest for him to go see a therapist. Lend an ear be understanding but don't push. More than likely if its still affecting him he has PTSD. Learn his trigger help him avoid them. But the best bet is therapy. Make sure the therapist is well trained to handle trauma though
