Pig Butchering scam

Well I had fun for a while today and tonight with a wrong number text asking Jason to move his car from her parking spot. The number is in Seattle and I'm in Maryland. I wouldn't normally respond but I said you not only have the wrong number you have the wrong state.
That was used by the sender to initiate a conversation and lead to trying to be friends and get me to download and use the Signal app. Twice no less. It all came to an end when I said oops sorry Emma I'm not your pig to butcher which is what the scam is actually called.
Dead silence followed

Isn't life fun some days

@lissah yeah the whole thing is a standard script to get a conversation started so they can get on an isolated platform and work you over time to get the information they want and build a fake friendship to extort money from you and even get photos they can manipulate and use for blackmail.
