What’s a scam that’s so normalised that we don’t realize it’s a scam anymore?

The idea that technology; political support for a party/candidate; 'donating' to the church that shouts loudest; switching your oil;gas;electricity; phone provider will magically save you money.

@Picklebobble2 I've never worked out how donating to any cause would save you money!

I don't donate to churches anyway, apart from paying for the occasional music event in one, or attending a coffee-morning !
