Scammer arrested right from my son's classroom

one of my boys started at a post secondary trade school last week. On Thursday morning, the head of school and the police came into the classroom and arrested one of the students (who was in his late twenties/early thirties). Everyone was in shock.

At the end of the day my son (if you knew my son you would not be surprised he asked) asked the teacher why the other student was arrested. Teacher said the guy fraudulently use someone else's name, address, and Social Insurance Number to apply for and receive OSAP. OSAP is Ontario's student financial assistance program. Luckily they caught him!

I know of another scam going around here in southern Ontario I'll write about it later

Too many scammers get away with ruining peoples lives, the stories I read about people losing their savings breaks my heart sometimes. The elderly. Ugh! I had a client I was very close with who had memory problems and the scammers befriended her, and she would talk to them behind her husbands and my back and give them money!!! 😑
