A New Telephone Scam….

This one is where they pretend they are from Customs & Border Patrol and that you have a package that needs to be delivered. They need more information such as your address to send the package. They will text message days before telling you they need more information because you have a package that needs to be delivered and it’s being held. I ignored 4 such messages in the past couple of weeks. So I get the call and they say where they are calling from and then transfer me to an agent. He asks me (in a very strong Indian accent) what my name is. I asked him what his name was. He said something smart-mouthed. And then asks me for my name & address. I won’t repeat what I told him before hanging up. I figure they would pretend that there was a drug shipment going to my name & address and that they will threaten to arrest me if I don’t post bond in the form of a money order or gift cards or they will send officers to my home to arrest me. 😂

@Budwick Enough that these scam call centers are staying open till they get busted, which is probably rare. There are scam schools in India that teach them how to pull these scams. There are American and British scam-busters that are excellent in hacking and they use their own computer to get into the scammers call center computers and take their files & download them for evidences and take control of their computer cameras so they can get screenshots of their faces…and some of them also wipe everything out on their computers by sending them a virus. Some of them have even contacted nearby police stations sending them the information and telling them the location of the scam centers. And they have made arrests.
