UPDATE ON THE SCAM

Still weak and shaking, but spoke to the police again and contacted a lawyer. Both say don't pay the rest of the money the builder was asking for. The police say call 911 if they show up or keep calling, that they're still investigating, and still trying to find the guy who we actually dealt with; when they fled and left my wife and son stranded the guy driving dropped off his buddy before the police stopped their truck. And the lawyer says if they try to sue he has an associate who LOVES to deal with scams like this.

So, anyway, I now have two new meds to take thanks to my visit to the hospital on Sunday, and I'm thinking we'll have to find a reputable roofing person to come and check the work that was done to see if it is okay. But at least we have some hope.
