Amazon, possible scam.

So Amazon has been trying to call all afternoon to verify a $999 phone purchase but for some reason I kept getting cut off. Finally I just spoke to someone who seemed concerned that my account had been hacked. I decided to have a little fun by pretending to have multiple accounts and needing to know which account it was charged to, thinking no way will they come up with a name. Boy was I wrong, the woman on the phone managed to come up with my MIL's name. Problem, she passed away a decade ago and never had a cell phone nor an Amazon account.

About a year back discovered while online at Amazon that I was being hacked.

It Happens only when I was online, the tell-tail sign was my comment rating would go up and then down on a specific review. (Noticed it happening many times during a couple months.)

Then it dawned on me its the only way they could have done it because of the double verification system. When online is when they would try to apply their hacking skills.

*Deleted any frequently used payment method from my profile. Sure its a hassle when purchasing, but better to be safe than sorry.

*Deleted all my reviews of which there where many, dating back several years.

*Stay online at Amazon only long enough, to research the best price and place my order. Then log-off. Immediately!

@eyeno Once had a hacker get control of several online accounts I had (including Amazon)...situation was finally remedied with a combination of new passwords and changing the associated emails.
