Amazon, possible scam.

So Amazon has been trying to call all afternoon to verify a $999 phone purchase but for some reason I kept getting cut off. Finally I just spoke to someone who seemed concerned that my account had been hacked. I decided to have a little fun by pretending to have multiple accounts and needing to know which account it was charged to, thinking no way will they come up with a name. Boy was I wrong, the woman on the phone managed to come up with my MIL's name. Problem, she passed away a decade ago and never had a cell phone nor an Amazon account.

That literally happened to me. The first call I picked up, I told them to go f themselves and he hung up.

The subsequent calls, I'd pick up, press 1 to talk to a representative, planning on cussing them out, only for the call to get cut off right away or shortly after interacting.

Then they started to interact with me in other subsequent calls, until I told them to get effed by a cow lol

These people really need to get the shit beaten out of them. I can only imagine how many people actually fall victim to this crap

@deadgerbil They called on my landline which is pretty much a dead giveaway since there wouldn't be any connection between that number and Amazon. They also seemed to be cloning numbers as they called from a different number within our area every time. It took her a minute to come up with a name so I assume she must have googled the number and wend down the list of names possibly associated with it and picked one.
