Mother bear takes the call.

My daughter, a highly functioning autistic adult, got a scam call today!

They tried to get her social security number!

She'd hang up and they keep calling back, trying to tell her she had cerdit debt.
She's never had cerdit of any kind.

Finally, frustrated she handed thd phone to me.

I told them she's had no cerdit debt is an autistic adult and to stop calling.
They argued they wanted to speak to Katherine.

I hung up on them.

They immediately called back.

Gee,fella the gig was up,you didn't get that?😡

I showed my daughter how to block unwanted calls on her phone and stressed, again, to my daughter the imoprtance of not giving out your social security number to anyone who calls you over the phone. (sigh)

I'm so sorry this is happening. For peace of mind, you might want to place a lock on all her credit reports. Last time I did that, it only cost me $10. I keep them locked at all times unless I need to apply for credit, which is very rare.

The other thing you can do, is instruct her to not pick up any calls on numbers/people/companies she doesn't recognize. If someone really wants to get a hold of her, they'll leave a message. Most of those scammers don't leave one.
