I’ve had hunters point their rifles at me very close to the voting pole, and I’ve had poll workers yell out my party affiliation when I got to the table. I’ve also had A GOP supporting poll worker walk into my booth and try to show me how to vote ( pull a straight red ballot), none of this stopped me from casting my blue ballot.
@MistyCee I filed an official report, along with some other voters and admittedly some of those co concerned being conservatives. I had no answer other than “yeah they’re not supposed to”, but actually I’m hopeful it’s not gonna be that way again tomorrow. November is prime hunting season here, so they can easily park near to the pole and have their rifles out and claim they were just cleaning them.
@BackyardShaman I'm glad you filed a report, but my guess is, it's your word against theirs as far as whether they assaulted you or were just excercising their 2nd Amendment right to threaten everyone around them with being armed.
I'm glad you're ok, hope that they don't shoot anyone, and that the country will do ok, in spite of the threat of violence being ever present and acceptable.
I haven't voted yet, but Republicans are an endangered species where I live, so that would never happen. Almost everyone here is registered as a Democrat or in Working Families, a state party that replaced the defunct Liberal Party.
Nope. I live in a really traditional conservative neighborhood, but it's a small neighborhood polling place where everyone is friendly and the talk is more about food and lawn care than politics.
